On the 12th of September in 2021, Romanian football team Dinamo Bucharest walked onto the pitch for their game in the Romanian league. Instead of walking with kids as usually seen, each player was carrying a street dog. Romania and especially the capital Bucharest has a big problem with street dogs. Some sources say that up to 64,000 stray dogs roam the streets of the city.

By walking onto the pitch with street dogs, the team wanted to raise awareness for all the dogs without a home. After the game, spectators had the opportunity to adopt a dog. Throughout the season, several teams from the league want to take part in the project of the Romanian Football Association FRF, which runs under the motto “Fill the void in your life”.
