Magawa, a rat detecting landmines in Cambodia retires after five years of a successful career. Last year, he received a gold medal for his courage. It was the first time that a rat received this kind of distinction.

During all his career, the rodent found 71 landmines and others dozens of objects threatening to explode. Now, it’s time to take some rest, but before, Magawa will stay in post for a few more weeks to mentor the new recruits and help them settle in. A well-deserved retirement for this rat!
